-
• Is this a new side effect?
• I don’t like how I feel.
• Am I broken? -
• People say these kale salads are everything but seriously - who can digest this?
• The social dynamics of wellness spaces are very uncomfortable. I don’t feel welcome in these circles.
• None of this feels sustainable. My body doesn’t even feel better off. -
• Co-designing and implementing a back-to-basics plan one step at a time - with lots of support.
• I’m fully on board with every step. I’m learning so much that I can share with friends and family.
• There are tricky details that come up and sometimes we have to modify the plan, but I’m on track and already feel things are changing. -
• I’m sure this plan is great but I didn’t expect doing it to be so complicated.
• I don’t remember what any of these supplements are for.
• I’m overwhelmed. I can’t engage.
• I can’t believe I’ve invested so much and feel lost. What’s wrong with me? Maybe I’m beyond repair.
Results
-
• I don’t understand my body. I guess only doctors can do that.
• Hopelessness
• I was told to eat better and exercise more. Again. Whatever that means. -
• I’m hungry
• I feel outcast, alone, and exhausted.
• My body still doesn’t feel good.
• It’s official. This doesn’t work for me.
• What about that diet plan I just read about? I haven’t tried that one yet…. -
• My health is no longer a mystery to me. I know how to maintain it and manage normal fluctuations and challenges.
• I have developed the skills and experience to take excellent care of myself.
• I feel confident about “graduating” or staying on a low-key maintenance plan that provides support when needed. -
• Test results didn’t show much.
• I did my best to follow the plan. There was a little improvement.
• I’m not where I want to be, but I’m also kinda broke. This is definitely not sustainable.
• I don’t see the finish line here. Do I keep going?
Who I Work With
Adults of all genders, ages, races, and cultures. Diversity is a big part of what makes my work interesting. There’s no one right way to be healthy. I’m here to help you find your best way.
You want your experience and concerns to be heard, taken seriously, and responded to with specificity. You want a partner to figure out what actually works for you.
You want to preserve your vitality and care for your body as its needs evolve.
You’re tired of trying so many things and figuring it out alone. You want guidance, support, and community.
You are unwilling to accept that age has to come with one diagnosis after the other, with pharmaceuticals as the only approach to management.
You don’t want to waste your energy rebelling against our system of sick care. You are ready to be a REBEL FOR your health.
My Philosophy
Healthy lifestyles establish an internal ecology that nurtures vibrance and repels disease. This resilience means a longer, higher quality of life.
No pharmaceutical or insurance plan can offer that protection.
This makes informed self-care the most effective healthcare available.
Self-care is Primary care.

Working Together
You know what you want. You’re tired of feeling like your health is a mystery or unresponsive to your efforts.
You know it’s possible and you’re ready!
You might be nervous and unsure of where to start, how to stay on track, and afraid of losing your way..
Despite the fear, there’s nothing that sounds worse than being in this same place next year.
You don’t need another friend. You don’t need another wellness class. You want more than accountability.
You need a partner. You need a knowledgable collaborator.
You need a co-pilot to see the journey through.
About Vanden
I’m a NYC native and have been in the fitness and wellness industry for over a decade. I’ve been a personal trainer since 2008 and a coach since 2015. I’ve competed in track, Olympic lifting, and triathalons. Before any of that, I had a first career in equestrian show jumping. Training humans and animals for competitive performance taught me a lot about working toward big goals. Lifestyle goals are not much different. We achieve them with an athlete’s mindset, repetition, and constant fine tuning.
Vanden-Pilar, Board-Certified Health Coach.
What people don’t know about me: My joy and wellness were hard-won.
For most of my life, I was compulsively self-destructive. I ate like crap, drank like a fish, and was stuck in downward spiral of behavior and self-talk. I didn't realize my self-destruction was trauma driven - until I did. By my late 20’s, I could barely get up half a flight of stairs to my first-floor apartment on a humid day without shedding a few tears of physical pain. People look at me today and assume I must have always been this healthy, or have something they don’t. The reality is I started this journey after the age of 30.
I’ve learned to be gentle – the hard way.
I’ve fallen on my face a million times in the process of building a life that nurtures my health and growth through positive challenges. Learning to be gentle was possibly the hardest lesson of my life, and it came achingly slow - two steps forward, one step back. Learning to offer myself love and forgiveness were the hard-won habits that brought the most rapid and profound transformations. Even so, I’m still learning to be gentle.
This work is bigger than me, and you. It’s about the ripple effect of role models who live a vibrant life.
Who’s role model are you? Who’s inspired by your vibrance and passion? I bet more people take notice of you than you think.
In a society where the default reality is chronic disease diagnoses at younger ages with every generation, what do you stand for?
Supporting you to shine as bright as possible is how I contribute to a better world.
