Book Club! GUT (session 3 of 3)
Book Club! GUT (session 3 of 3)
We will discuss section 4, and the book as a whole.
We're reading GUT by Giulia Enders. It's the most fun and engaging book you could fathom about how your gut works. Most people have heard a lot about how critical a healthy gut is, but many of us don't know enough about the gut to care for it very well. This is one of the most recommended books on gut health. It's a light, fun read. Chosen, in part, to correlate with our Gut 101 Educational Forum coming up in August or September.

Mind-Body Medicine Moment
Mind-Body Medicine Moment
Need a break from all of it? Join us for a moment of ease.
Mind-Body Medicine helps us move through difficult emotions, disconnect from stress, and nurture the body's capacity to restore itself (repair damage, digest food, lose weight, build muscle, orgasm, sleep well, learn well, detoxify, and so much more!).
We'll use one or two techniques in each session to relax and restore body and mind. Effective practices to stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system (our body's gear for relaxation and repair) are essential for health and well-being. For some people, this skill set is underdeveloped. For other people, the skills are known, but we are not great at finding the time to use them. Whichever camp you're in, join us for simple, restorative practices to support your physical and psychological wellbeing. All experience levels and physical abilities are welcome. Space ADA compliant.
We'll begin with a brief introduction of the skill, then experience the exercise, and then have the opportunity to share about it.

Gut health is a popular topic in mainstream wellness media, but often, there are more questions and confusion than straightforward information that empowers us to build health. Let's get clear on the basics of how the gut works and things to keep in mind in caring for gut. We can also think about what we might be struggling with individually that might be rooted in our gut health.

Educational Forum: From Anxiety to Ease
Educational Forum: From Chronic Anxiety to Rooted Ease
Our self-care practices are foundational components of a stable, peaceful mood. Mental health conditions such as chronic anxiety, mild to moderate depression, and mood swings are usually "treated" with pharmaceuticals. Fingers crossed they work for you and the side effects are tolerable. Let's dig into specifics in each of the five pillars of health. How can we weave these practices together to reduce our need for pharmaceutical management?
